Moreover, kids bedroom lamps that glow softly are able to reduce the contrast between dark and light and thus prevent over-stimulation. Soft lighting is simply better for your infant/toddler’s undeveloped eyes. Better avoid exposed bulbs and halogens because they produce bright lights that make babies anxious and uncomfortable. In addition, toddlers are known for their uncontrollable curiosity so in order to avoid potential hazard in case he pokes around, parents should go for fixtures offering diffused light. Note that, it is advisable to pay attention where the bed or crib is placed. Bell-shaped shades ceiling fixtures is not really a great choice if placed right above the bed but it looks great from across the room.

Consider a Dimmer
Did you know that a dimmer switch can make your baby wind down and eventually fell asleep? So, using it daily as part of a bedtime routine might be a good idea. This may stem from the fact that the serene atmosphere it stimulates. Furthermore, you can use a dimmer to sneak in and out without disrupting your baby’s peaceful sleep. A dimmer is also the perfect companion for late-night diaper changes and feedings because it can maintain your kid’s drowsy state.

Create Light Layers
While soft lighting is encouraged to be installed in your baby’s room, sometimes it may create inconvenient when you are changing your little one’s diaper because you can barely see what you are doing. You can simply overcome this issue by creating layers of light. So, instead of using a really bright ceiling lamp you can opt for several fixtures and lamps to brighten the room. Go for at least three points of light like ceiling fixture, reading lamp or changing table light. Remember that, you should always aim for natural light because it can prevent overheating and make your baby sleep longer.
